Mere Phantoms has been invited to present interactive installations at the Royal BC Museum and at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria!
Wonder Sunday: an event for children and their families.
Sunday January 27th, 1 – 3pm at the Royal British Columbia Museum
Did you ever wonder how to make a story through the use of images and shadow? As the Museum celebrates National Literary Day, come and see how film and shadows can transform the First Peoples gallery into a space of stories and magic. For this family oriented event visitors will be invited to create paper cutouts that reflect their own relationship with the rapidly changing urban environment, and then cast their shadows onto the Museum walls. We are thrilled to have Victoria-based performance-artist Peter Morin collaborate with us on this installation.
URBANITE: an evening of adult programming throughout the gallery. Age 18+
Friday February 1st, 8:00 – 11:00pm at the Art Gallery of Greater Victoria
Mere Phantoms has been invited to present an Interactive Shadow Installation in conjunction with TRACES: Fantasy Worlds and Tales of Truth, a contemporary drawing exhibition featuring work by Daniel Barrow, Alison Norlen and Ed Pien. Attendees will be invited to illuminate and animate a fantastical 3d installation that explores our personal relationship to the urban environment. Reserve tickets early for this popular event. http://urbanite.eventbrite.com/.
